We spent a delightful afternoon with the Special Education class at Jarrettown Elementary
School in the Upper Dublin School District for a fall activity.
The activity consisted of leaf rubbings, where students colored their own leaves by utilizing real
leaves. Through this activity, students learned why leaves change color and how the seasons
affect them. With the help of our volunteers, they also crafted their own mobiles decorated
with the shapes they chose to cut out. While cutting, we helped reinforce their recognition of
different shapes.
Laughter and excitement filled the room as the children waved their finished mobiles around.
The event captured the spirit of autumn and marked another wonderful new year for
Madison’s Mission.
